Program Description The Pepin Area School District offers an indoor walking opportunity to community members that runs from November 1 through April 30. To access this program, community members must complete the Community Indoor Walking Program Release & Waiver Form and a background check. Forms can be picked up at the school office or are available to print from the district website.
Participation Requirements ● The Community Indoor Walking Program Release and Waiver Form must be completed before participating in the walking program. ● The background check must be completed before participating in the walking program. Please allow one week for this process to take place. ● All participants must provide a copy of their driver's license or ID card at the time of submission of the paperwork. ● Contact Angie Schultz at the school office regarding the required paperwork.
Program Guidelines ● The building will be available for approved indoor walkers at the following times from November 1 through April 30:
Monday through Friday 6:15-7:15 a.m. 4:00-6:00 p.m.
● Approved participants must enter and exit the building through the main doors by the high school office. ● Upon entering and exiting the building, walkers must sign in and put on an adhesive name tag that is visible during their time in the building. Walkers must also sign in and out on the designated log sheet. ● Only approved walking program participants may access the building. Minor children may accompany approved walkers but must remain with their adult walker during their visit. ● Participation is limited to November through April. Those wishing to participate the following year will need to reapply. ● Please use only the designated walking route during your walking time. ● School buildings and spaces are generally unavailable when used by our students or student-athletes. Scheduled open walk times may be subject to change to accommodate other district needs or due to circumstances outside of the district’s control. ● Walking is not permitted on days when school is not in session be it weekends, inclement weather days, or any other times when the building may be closed. ● Please wear appropriate attire, be polite, and be respectful of the space and staff who may be working. ● Participants must use the approved walking path only. Not abiding by the policy may end in a loss of the privilege to use the facility. The walking map will be posted by the main office door.
